The Foundry Grill is the family friendly option for a group dinner in a rustic and antique filled room welcoming for all.

The Owl Bar is one of Utah’s oldest bars, built from actual pieces of a bar on the Outlaw Trail in Thermopolis, Wyoming. Grab a drink and a burger and make a wish by pushing a coin into a crack in the walls. (Must be 21+)
The Deli is a walk-up style quick order destination, perfect for grabbing a croissant and coffee in the morning or sandwiches to take on your hike.

Bearclaw Cabin is on the top of the mountain, accessibly by chair lift, has great nachos and drinks, and offers 360 degree views.

Sundance Resort

  • Scenic Lift Rides
    Take the Outlaw Express to the summit for breathtaking views and a visit to Bearclaw Cabin. Their legendary nachos and mountaintop views make this experience truly unforgettable.
  • Mountain Biking
    Sundance offers over 25 miles of lift-serviced, single-track mountain biking trails. Medium to Expert level, not recommended for under 12.
  • Hiking
    From May to October Sundance Resort offers miles of incredible hikes through grass fields and dense forests. You can obtain a map at the ticket office. Stewart Falls is a favorite for all abilities. You are in the heart of the Wasatch Mountains and its incredible Mount Timpanogos. This hike is a once in a lifetime opportunity and the trailhead is less than two miles up the road. Want a guide? Your host Lynn would love to hike with you or point you in the right direction!
  • ZipTour
    Fly down over 2,100 feet of vertical drop at up to 65 mph on one of the most scenic zip tours in the U.S.  Must be 10+ years old, weigh between 50 and 260 lbs. and be between 48” and 82” tall.
  • Horseback Riding
    Ride through alpine meadows and forested trails right in our mountain backyard led by experienced wranglers.
  • Art Workshops
    Create pottery, jewelry, leather bound journals, or paintings in the Art Studio led by local artisans.

Out of the Ordinary Adventures

Of course, Sundance Resort offers skiing and snowboarding, but for more snowy adventures check out the Nordic Center with over 15 kilometers for cross country skiing. Have kids that love tubing? Head to Soldier Hollow Olympic Park for fun on tubes, and don’t miss the ice castles. For the motor lovers Daniel Summit is the place to go for snowmobiling.

Timpanogos Cave National Monument is a wonder to behold. Hike up and then into the mountain!

In Midway, you’ll find the Homestead Crater, a natural wonder created by melting snow and minerals over 10,000 years ago. You can soak, swim, snorkel, scuba dive or do paddleboard yoga in the 90-96 degree water at this unique destination. Open year round but wintertime visits are especially soothing.

Deer Creek Reservoir is right up the road and offers jet ski, paddleboard, and boat rentals. They have a great beach for lounging and picnic areas for bbq-ing.

If there is a train fanatic in your family don’t miss a ride on the Heber Creeper that offers scenic rides daily and old west cowboy shootouts.

Ever heard of skijoring? Skijoring Utah is a competition where a horse and rider pull a skier through a course of gates, jumps, and rings. It happens and February every year, buy tickets in advance!

Looking for a different kind of relaxation on the Provo River? Head over to High Country Adventures for tubing with your whole gang.

Depending on the weather, you can park and watch Ice Climbers scale the frozen Bridal Veil Falls in January and February on Highway 189, truly death defying. In the warmer months we suggest a close up visit to the falls to dip your feet in the icy water.

For local milk, cheese, ice cream, and gifts pay a visit to the Kohler Creamery, also known as Heber Valley Artisan Cheese. If you time it right, you can see ALL THE BABY FARM ANIMALS in Spring.

The Midway Farmer’s Market offers loads of fresh and local fruit, veggies, bread, and more. Every Saturday 10am – 1pm from June to October.

Fan of music? Heber Market is a small-town celebration happening every Thursday with vendors, food, beer garden, and a live band in the city park.
