Soldier Hollow Tubing

Soldier Hollow Tubing is a must try bucket list experience for any family or group of friends traveling to Utah, or living in Utah!  Home of the Salt Lake City Winter Olympics, Nordic Skiing competitions in 2002, the Soldier Hollow Nordic Center continues to offer world-class cross-country skiing and groomed tubing runs with a moving walkway that takes tubing enthusiasts to the top of the sledding hill.

Enjoy hot cocoa by your own open propane fire pit to keep warm between exhilarating rides, or pop into the lodge and enjoy the view from the comfort and relaxation of the great indoors.

Soldier Hollow in the Summer

If you’re visiting Soldier Hollow in the Summer, tubing is obviously not an option but that doesn’t mean there’s nothing else to do.  Every Summer, Soldier Hollow Olympic Park hosts the “Soldier Hollow Classic” competitive sheepdog championships.  This event is another must experience, bucket list item for dog lovers from around the world!

Competitors come from as far as Australia and Europe to compete in this renowned event, but the sheepdog competitions are not the only attraction.  There’s also the Utah State Highland Games Championships attracting competitors to traditional Scottish events like the Caber Toss, Stone Put, Weight For Distance, Hammer Throw Competitions and others.

You’ll also find Native American arts and crafts, an impressive Navajo Blanket display, an international food court, and live animal shows like the Wild Wonders Exotic Animal Show and the Earthwings Bird Show where you’ll meet owls, hawks, falcons and more!

Summer events are usually held around the end of August in conjunction with Midway’s Swiss Days celebrations so in addition to tubing in the winter, a Summer visit always a great time to consider staying with us at Mountain Cabins Utah, in comfortable mountain vacation cabin near Sundance Resort, Soldier Hollow, Midway, and Provo, Utah.
